Entries for the competition close on Thursday, 7th November, 2019 at 5.00 p.m. Entries can be dropped off at Country Brewer, 64 Main Street, Huonville, prior to this date.
You are welcome to enter the competition regardless of whether you are an experienced amateur brewer or just a beginner. You will receive valuable and constructive written feedback from the judges on your beer or ciders and all for free. Entries will be judged before the opening of the 2019 Huon Show. First and second place cards will be awarded for the best entries.
Entries will feature in a display in the homecrafts building while the show is running.
Please supply two bottles of the same brew (i.e. two bottles for each entry) A label/artwork on one of the bottles is invited but not mandatory (for display purposes so be creative), with the other bottle having no affixed label (for judging) but a paper label attached with a rubber band is ideal. You will be required to register your entry at time of drop off. Bottle capacity should be “longneck” sized (approx.. 640-750 ml each), but where these are unable to be used, then multiple smaller bottles may be submitted.
Entries are limited to one entry per class.
Judging criteria
Judging will take into consideration the head, head retention, aroma, appearance and flavour and drinkability of the beer or cider. The bottles should be clean and well presented. Entrants should, if possible, indicate the beer style for each entry, though this is not compulsory.
Entrants can collect their display entries from the homecrafts building between 4.00 p.m. and 5.00 p.m. on show day. Uncollected bottles will be recycled.
