The Faces Behind it All

The Huon Small Farms Expo is run under the auspices of the Huon Agricultural Society by a special working group formed in August 2015. This group is made up of people who are passionate about small farming, animals and sustainability and represent a wealth of knowledge on the topic.

The working group presently consists of Isaac Walker (social media & website), Judi Tye (poultry), Barry Calderbank (sheep), Cara McEwen (food and beverage stallholders), Jenny Mudge (production/value adding), John Green (goats), Wayne & Raewyn Debnam (alpacas), Lisa Plohl (Chairperson and Council liaison) and Mark Jessop (Huon Ag Society).

 

Why We Are Here

The aim of the Huon Small Farms Expo is to give people the tools and knowledge they need to succeed at getting the most out of their farm. It doesn’t matter if you just want a vegetable patch or want to launch a gourmet produce business the Huon Small Farms Expo is here for you. Our area of Tasmania is nationally iconic for great food, great produce and innovative new ideas and we want to foster that legacy into the future. the event is run by volunteers and provided free to the public for the purpose of bettering the whole Huon Valley and beyond.
